Mastering Observational Equipment

In this interactive session, you'll get practical, hands-on experience using essential medical devices to measure and monitor vital signs accurately. Learn how to confidently use thermometers, pulse oximeters (SpO2), glucometers (blood glucose), and blood pressure monitors—crucial skills for first aiders, healthcare students, and emergency responders.
Refine your technique, gain confidence, and ensure you're ready to assess and respond in real-world situations. This is a must-attend session for anyone serious about improving their first aid skills!

Concussion Assessment

Recognising and responding to a concussion can make all the difference in preventing further injury. This session will focus on the key questions to ask, the warning signs that require a doctor’s assessment, and the serious red flags that indicate an ambulance is needed.
After an initial refresher masterclass, you’ll break into groups for hands-on role-playing, practicing real-world concussion assessments in a practical, interactive setting. Gain the confidence to identify concussion symptoms, ask the right questions, and make informed decisions about when to seek medical help.

Fracture Management

When managing a suspected fracture, proper support can make a significant difference in patient comfort and safety. With ambulance services increasingly advising first aiders to transport patients with limb fractures to hospital or urgent care by private car, knowing how to apply a formable splint effectively is a crucial skill.
In this session, you'll learn how to use rolled-up formable splints to stabilise fractures, reduce movement, and potentially ease pain while waiting for an ambulance or during transport. Hands-on practice will ensure you can confidently provide essential fracture support in real-world situations.

Neck Injury

When a spinal injury is suspected, proper immobilisation is critical. In this hands-on session, you’ll learn the techniques currently used by ambulance services across Australia, focusing on both manual and soft collar immobilisation.
You'll practice how to manually stabilise the head and neck using your hands, as well as when and how to apply a soft cervical collar safely and effectively. This session will also cover how to assess when a collar is appropriate and how to measure for the correct fit.
By the end of the session, you'll have the confidence and skills to manage a suspected spinal injury with precision and care.

Immersive First Aid Simulation

Step into the action with our Immersive First Aid Simulation—a hands-on experience designed to test your skills, judgement, and confidence in an emergency setting.
In this session, you’ll enter a fully staged mock first aid room and/or accident scenes where you’ll be called to respond to a range of patient scenarios, from routine presentations to high-pressure emergencies. It’s your chance to experience what it’s really like to manage multiple patients, make critical decisions under pressure, and apply your training in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
This simulation is ideal for anyone wanting to push their first aid abilities beyond the classroom and prepare for real-world situations.
